Footballer and Guinness World Record achiever Sajan Dangol reached the summit of Mount Everest on 14 May 2025, marking a major new chapter in a journey built around discipline, endurance and ambitious challenges.

Birmingham, United Kingdom — 8 October 2026 — Sajan Dangol has officially documented his successful ascent of Mount Everest, completed on the morning of 14 May 2025.
The achievement took Sajan from the football pitch to the highest mountain on Earth and represented one of the most demanding challenges of his journey to date.
The Himalayan Times reported on 14 May 2025 that Sajan was among a group of climbers who successfully reached the summit that morning. Expedition organisers confirmed that Sajan was part of the team supported by Expeditions High Mountain Treks, with climbers from the expedition reaching the summit between approximately 7:50am and 10:00am.
For Sajan, the Everest expedition represented a different kind of test from football and world-record attempts.
The environment changed, but many of the principles remained the same: preparation, patience, consistency, resilience and the ability to keep moving forward when progress becomes difficult.
Standing at approximately 8,849 metres above sea level, the summit represented the culmination of preparation, acclimatisation and the gradual progression through one of the world's most challenging environments.
The achievement also continued a wider journey defined by setting goals that initially appear beyond reach.
Football had taught Sajan the value of repetition — one touch at a time.
Mountaineering reinforced another version of the same lesson — one step at a time.
That philosophy continues to shape his approach to sport, future challenges and the message he hopes to share with others:
Dream. Believe. Work. Persevere. Achieve.
